Trump doesn’t plan to build course, play golf in Greenland

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said he has no plans to build a golf course or any real estate in Greenland, describing his push for the island as purely strategic. He dismissed development on the icy territory, noting that it is “really cold” and unsuitable for golf.

Trump emphasized that acquiring Greenland is a national security issue, citing alleged threats from Russian and Chinese ships in the Arctic—claims both Moscow and Beijing have rejected.

Tensions with European allies have escalated, especially after Trump imposed tariffs on eight NATO countries opposing his plan. Greenland’s government has warned that military conflict “can’t be ruled out” and is preparing guidance for residents. European leaders have strongly criticized Trump’s actions, warning they risk undermining NATO and transatlantic trust.
